Brent D. Boyea

Welcome to my academic home page! I am a professor in the Department of Political Science at the University of Texas at Arlington. I received my Ph.D. from the Department of Political Science at Rice University. 

In my research, I study American political institutions, with particular attention to state politics and judicial politics. Before attending graduate school, I received a B.A. in Political Science and History from Case Western Reserve University.  

My research has been published in the American Journal of Political Science, American Politics Research, Journal of Empirical Legal Studies, Journal of Law and Courts, Law & Society Review, and State Politics & Policy Quarterly, among other journals.
